Gaussian Synthetic Memories

Gaussian Synthetic Memories is a research collaboration between Domestic Data Streamers and the USC Mobile & Environmental Media Lab under the USC School of Cinematic Arts. It was shown in 2024 Flux Festival in Los Angeles. This project aims to create navigable, immersive VR spaces for synthetic memories, specifically designed for therapeutic use by individuals with dementia. Github Link

My contributions: 

  1. Leveraging virtual reality for synthetic memories: Harnessed virtual reality platforms to present synthetic memories utilizing the Gaussian Splatting technique, creating immersive and visually dynamic experiences.

  2. Collaborating on AI-generated therapeutic environments: Investigated the therapeutic potential of AI-generated memories for individuals with dementia, culminating in a 2025 SIGGRAPH paper submission: Immersive Synthetic Memories: Transforming AI-Generated 2D Memories into Virtual Environments.
